Wilton Manors, "The Island City" is a small city in Broward County that has become famous for having the highest percentage of gay people of any city, and a very pro-active gay-friendly government. Wilton Manor's last Mayor is gay, and is now running for Congress. While most of eastern Broward County has doubled in value over the last five years, Wilton Manors real estate has gone up in value even more, thanks in good part to the improvements made to the housing stock by gay and lesbian buyers.
